TPD officer shot during traffic stop released from hospital, transferred to rehab facility

TULSA — Tulsa police say Officer Aurash Zarkeshan has been released from the hospital and is being transferred to an out-of-state rehab facility.

Zarkeshan is one of two officers shot during a routine traffic stop on June 29. The other officer, Sergeant Craig Johnson passed away from his injuries on June 30.

On July 7, police gave an update on Zarkeshan's condition one week after the incident.

The doctors said Zarkeshan is ahead of where they expected him to be considering his injuries. Zarkeshan is able to communicate with family and can stand up.
