A Tulsa police negotiator, on his way to talk down a suicidal subject, was hurt in a car accident on Highway 75 Monday afternoon.
Sgt. Jack Henley, who is described as one of the best on the force when it comes to negotiating with people on the edge, injured his back in a rollover accident on the highway.
TPD says Henley was traveling in the left lane on Highway 75 and had his flashing lights and siren going, was hit by someone changing lanes from the right to the left, causing the vehicle to flip at least once.
The accident occurred in the 5000 block of S. Highway 75.
EMSA said one patient was transported non-emergent.
A police rep said Henley would be released from the hospital Monday night, but would likely miss a few weeks rehabbing his lower back.
