TULSA – Authorities were able to locate a man suspected of stealing a truck after he attempted to use a gift card found in the stolen vehicle.

Roy Johnson, 24, was arrested after attempting to use a Dick’s Sporting Goods gift card that belonged to the person he allegedly stole the truck from. The truck’s owner told police that Johnson looked through his bag at the YMCA near South Hudson Avenue and East 51st and found the keys to his black Chevy Silverado.

An officer approached Johnson outside of Dick’s but he attempted to run off and was later captured in the Home Depot parking lot.

Johnson was arrested on complaint of possession of a stolen vehicle and fraud.
