TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa police say they have arrested a Tulsa man for reportedly vandalizing the First Baptist Church in downtown.

Joseph Peace, 56, is in the Tulsa County jail on a felony complaint of malicious injury to property because damages reportedly exceed $1,000.

According to investigators, multiple windows at the church were broken on two separate dates over the past week. Officers say they used surveillance video to help identify Peace and found him “lounging on the lawn outside the Day Center [For the Homeless]" while wearing the same clothing in the videos.

They say Peace admitted to the vandalism saying “that he was drunk and did not have any particular reason for damaging the property.”
