SAND SPRINGS, Okla — According to Tulsa police, escapee Darryl Sanders, who has felony warrants for rape and kidnappings, is back into custody.

Sanders came up missing Tuesday, Jan. 28.

Police say he had 981 days remaining on his sentence, Oklahoma Department of Corrections officials said. Mr. Sanders signed out on an approved worksite itinerary around 5 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28.

He was supposed to return to the facility after work by 5:30 p.m., but he never did. CoreCivic, which operates the halfway house, then alerted us that he was missing, police say.
