TULSA — Tulsa Police Officers hit the streets Wednesday to conduct random acts of kindness.

Officers looked for people to pull over and instead of giving them a ticket, they were given a gift.

The Tulsa Police Department Foundation gathered nearly $20,000 worth of food and gift cards for the officers to pass out.

"It gives us the opportunity to be the good guys for the day," Officer David Flanagan said.

Officer Flanagan pulled over a mother of four who had her kids in the car and is scheduled to work Christmas Day. Her tail light was out and she had eleven active traffic warrants. She was given an entire Christmas meal and another chance to take care of her business.

The woman was shaking and completely surprised.

TPD will be back on the streets Thursday doing the same thing.
