Homicide investigators made an arrest Friday in connection to a woman found dead in a dumpster in north Tulsa.
19-year-old Demond Walker is accused of killing his 19-year-old girlfriend, Marquisha Walker.
Officers say they received a missing person report around 5:30 a.m. and not long after, police say the victim's boyfriend called using the same phone number saying he found his girlfriend’s body in a dumpster at the north Tulsa apartment complex: Bradford Apartments.
Investigators brought Walker in for questioning and later took him into custody. He is now facing first degree murder.
According to a news release, the victim was last seen inside Walker's apartment. Investigators obtained a search warrant and say they found evidence that the murder happened inside. They say they recovered a murder weapon off of the property.
Authorities say they are still trying to gather more information from neighbors in the area, as well as family. It is unclear if the victim was living with Walker.
This is Tulsa's 46th murder in 2016.
