TULSA — The Tulsa Parking Authority announced on Tuesday their request for submissions by designers and artists in regards to commissioning the Main Park Plaza Garage public art.
Tulsa Parking Authority is collaborating with the Tulsa Planning Office's Arts and Culture division and the Tulsa Arts Commission to invite groups or individuals of artists and designers who have the experience in completing similar scale public art projects to submit their qualifications.
Officials say qualifications are due by 5 p.m. on March 3, 2020.
The Main Park Plaza Garage is located at 4th and Main Street in downtown Tulsa.
How does it work?
- A committee comprised of commissioners from TPA and the Tulsa Arts Commission will review qualifications and invite up to five finalists to submit proposals
- The committee will recommend a proposal to TPA for final approval
- TPA will enter into a formal agreement with the selected artist or designer to deliver final design plans, art fabrication, and installation within the project budget
“Our goal is to bring people back to this vibrant intersection of Main Street,” TPA Director Peyton Haralson said. “We want your walk to be just as interesting as the destination you’re headed to.”
