TULSA – Parts of Riverside Drive have been closed for almost a year and on Thursday 2 Works for You was able to check out how construction on A Gathering Place for Tulsa is progressing.
Efforts to complete the dream of the large park encompassing Riverside Drive are not only happening in Tulsa but overseas in Germany. A 30 foot tower created overseas was assembled in east Tulsa at a warehouse not long ago.
The tower is just one of six that will be part of the new five acre adventure playground. Eventually the display will have swinging bridges attached, allowing kids to explore the different levels of the towers.
“The play equipment has a natural feeling to it, but really in enables kids to spark their creativity and their imagination to have a really fun and engaging play experience,” said Jeff Stava, A Gathering Place for Tulsa.
The other towers are scheduled to be shipped stateside in the upcoming months. Overall, it takes 14 weeks to build.
