Today marks 24th anniversary of OKC bombing

24 years ago today, 168 lives were lost on April 19, 1995 when the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City was bombed.

Today, the state will be honoring those who died on one of the darkest days in Oklahoma history.

Timothy McVeigh and his co-conspirator Terry Nichols were charged in connection to the bombing. McVeigh was convicted of murder, sentenced to death and was executed on June 11, 2001. Nichols was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2004 and is currently serving a life sentence.
