Three suspects arrested in connection to man's death in Osage County

Posted

Osage County Sheriff's Office said they have arrested three people in connection to a man's death in Pawhuska.

Deputies said they have arrested Maurice Kent, Toby Bighorse and Daniel Keene for reportedly killing John Adkins.

Officials said Kent, Bighorse and Keene told them they became involved in an argument with Adkins on Monday, October 1 as they were traveling to a residence north of Pawhuska.

Kent, Bighorse and Keene contacted the Pawhuska Police Department and filed a police report stating Adkins had been injured and left behind, officials said.

Since family members and friends had not heard from Adkins since October 1, an investigation was opened and the body of Adkins was found near the location described in the initial police report, deputies said.

Deputies said during the investigation, they learned Adkins was a passenger in a vehicle, driven by Keene, which stopped near County Road 4070 and County Road 4201.

Investigators said Adkins was allegedly killed during an attempted robbery.

Kent, Bighorse and Keene have been charged with second-degree murder and robbery with a weapon.
