TULSA, Okla. — This Machine, a bike share program in Tulsa, is offering free bike rides for voters on June 30.
The electric bikes can be found across different stations in Tulsa and can be checked out by using This Machine app.
Anyone who plans to vote in person or by absentee ballot can use the code "GOVOTE" for a free ride. Once checked out, riders can go to and from the polling locations in Tulsa or just ride them for fitness and fun.
According to Katie Sawicki, the executive director of This Machine, the free service is being provided because "reliable transportation should never be a barrier to the voting process and we are doing our part to make sure that it isn't."
Voters who use the bike share program on Tuesday can enter for a chance to win This Machine merchandise or a free annual ride pass by posting a photo on Instagram and tagging @thismachinetulsa. Those who enter must be wearing their "I Voted" sticker and include This Machine bike in the photo.
