Posted

CLAREMORE, Okla. -- The Wall That Heals is a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial from Washington, D.C. and it's here at RSU for the weekend.

The names of more than 58,000 service men and women are included on The Wall That Heals, nearly 1,000 are from Oklahoma. 21 Oklahoma Military Academy cadets are represented on The Wall.

Claremore will be one the first spots to host the traveling wall that gives people the opportunity to honor those who fought and died in the Vietnam War.

The Wall spans 375 feet and is about 8 feet high and sits at RSU in Claremore.

There's also a mobile education center where you can search where names are placed on the Wall.

The Claremore appearance by The Wall That Heals is organized by the Oklahoma Military Academy Alumni Association and RSU.

OMA, once known as the West Point of the Southwest, operated for more than five decades on what is now the RSU campus in Claremore.

The Wall That Heals along with the mobile education center will be open around the clock from Thursday, June 7, until about noon on Sunday, June 10.
