TULSA — The Gathering Place is the perfect park to spend time with family and friends while enjoying a variety of cultural events with some great food.
Officials say the park announced its calendar of Signature Events coming to the park this year.
Visitors will expect to see seasonal events, food, festivals, and sports tournaments.
Officials say the park will also provide a wide variety of programming for the entire community.
“Our signature events are designed to be world-class by distinction and diverse in content to appeal to a range of demographics and provide unique engagements for our guests,” said Tony Moore, Executive Director. “We are proud to share this calendar of events, and we look forward to welcoming Tulsans and visitors into the Park for experiences like none other.”
The 2020 Signature Event Calendar includes eleven, free, world-class events from May to December 2020.
The 11 free events include:
May 16 & 17, Tulsa 3 on 3 presented by Hardesty Family Foundation
Calling all ballers! Tulsa 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament presented by Hardesty Family Foundation is back and making a swish this spring! Grab your jerseys and bring your A-game to the Gathering Place Sport Courts for a winner-takes-all tournament with enough bragging rights to last the entire year. If you love basketball or know anyone who does, this is a-not-to be missed event. With live entertainment, family activities, NBA legend sightings and non-stop basketball, Tulsa 3 on 3 will be the MVP (Most Valuable Program) of the season!
June 26 & 27, Caribbean Vibes, A Reggae Carnival
Gathering Place is bringing the island state of mind to Tulsa with Caribbean Vibes – A Reggae Carnival! Catch tropical waves with a weekend packed full of live Caribbean music, dancing, food and more dancing. Enjoy a two-day celebration where reggae and calypso vibes come together to create the ultimate Caribbean carnival. Don’t miss two action-packed days of paradise at Caribbean Vibes, only at Gathering Place!
July 4, Fourth of July Watch Party
Gathering Place is again adding a spark to a Tulsa tradition and teaming up with River Parks and Folds of Honor for FreedomFest presented by QuikTrip this Independence Day. Join us as we celebrate our national holiday honoring military veterans and their many contributions toward our country’s freedom. Come out for the ultimate fireworks watch party with the best seats in Tulsa as we enjoy the annual Folds of Honor Freedomfest presented by QuikTrip.
July 24 & 25, La Fiesta de Tulsa
Celebrate the Latin and Hispanic cultures in our community with La Fiesta de Tulsa at Gathering Place! This annual, fan-favorite festival will bring Hispanic cultures together for two unforgettable nights filled with Latin food and drinks, crafts, live performances and a very special art display. Don’t miss out on the most festive fiesta in the region at La Fiesta de Tulsa!
August 15, Riverside Rib Festival
Gathering Place is grilling up and bringing back a Tulsa backyard barbeque again this summer. Riverside Rib Festival is a day of cooking, chilling and tasting some of the top BBQ in the region! With live country music, local brews and mouth-watering barbeque, there’s something for everyone at Riverside Rib Festival!
September 12, Tulsa Beer & Wine Festival
Get wined and dined at the second annual Tulsa Beer & Wine Festival at Gathering Place. Stroll through our themed, floral realms and treat your taste buds to exquisite food pairings with local and national craft beers and exotic wines. Glean useful culinary tips from master chefs and expert wine vintners. Enjoy food sampling from some of your favorite local restaurants, as you get serenaded by string musicians with nonstop live entertainment while viewing exotic cars throughout the Park. Tulsa Beer & Wine Festival will be top of your list of not to be missed annual events! Tickets for tastings will be available for purchase.
September 26, Oklahoma Tribal Celebration
Oklahoma Tribal Celebration was one of the region’s largest and most comprehensive Native American festivals in 2019. Gathering Place is bringing this native arts and culture festival back again this fall to honor and celebrate Oklahoma tribal nations. Oklahoma Tribal Celebration is a proud expression of music, dance, art, food and fashion; where participating Native American tribes will have the opportunity to share their story and speak of their cultural legacy in various realms throughout the Park. This regional festival will honor the Native American tribal nations in an Oklahoma Tribal Celebration unlike anything before!
October 17 & 18, Trucktoberfest presented by Bob Hurley RV
Calling all food truck fanatics: Gathering Place is bringing the top food trucks in Tulsa back again for a two-day festival feast! Trucktoberfest presented by Bob Hurley RV is a culinary explosion of every type of food prepared on wheels. Venture from truck to truck and taste unique cuisines locally prepared with international flair. Bring your appetite and taste some of the most delicious food trucks around, all in one location. Roll into Gathering Place for one of the largest food truck events in the Oklahoma – Trucktoberfest!
October 24, Tulsa In Harmony
Tulsa in Harmony is back again! This congregation of gospel recording artists and community choirs will lend their voices in one accord. They will sing of their hopes and their faith and aspirations of a more unified community and a more unified Tulsa. This is an inspirational evening of music and dance where local and nationally acclaimed Gospel singers gather together in one place to share their love of music and gift of harmony at Gathering Place.
October 30 & 31, Sweets & Treats on Spooky Street presented by U.S. Cellular
No tricks, just treats! Gathering Place is casting a spell for all not-so-scary ghosts and ghouls to make their way to the Park for Sweets and Treats on Spooky Street presented by U.S. Cellular. Don’t miss a kid-friendly, family trick-or-treating experience that’s a real scream. With fun games, costume contests, live entertainment and so much more, this two-night Halloween celebration will be a monster mash of memories!
December – January 3, Winter Wonderland presented by American Airlines
Gathering Place will once again transform into a Winter Wonderland, but this year’s event will have new surprises and features that spread holiday cheer across the entire Park! Enjoy a ride on the Winter Wonderland Express and explore thousands of twinkling lights turning the five-acre Adventure Playground into a festive holiday village. Don’t forget to capture a holiday family photo with Santa Claus by the fireplace! With special performances and carolers, a holiday market, festive food and drinks, as well as some exciting new plans tucked in our sleigh, Winter Wonderland presented by American Airlines will create holiday traditions and memories for the whole family only at Gathering Place!
