TULSA, Okla. - The Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) in Tulsa will host its 22nd annual "Celebrate Life" event on Friday morning.
More than 60 cancer survivors who survived the disease five years ago after receiving treatment at CTCA will be recognized.
The celebration of life will start 8:30 a.m. with a tree planting ceremony at the center's courtyard and then a white dove release.
There will be a workshop at the hospital and a chance for the survivors to write their names on brass leaves that'll go up in the lobby for the "tree of life."
Then, the celebration will move to the Renaissance Hotel where there will be a brunch for the survivors and their families. The event will end with an original song and dance called "Cancer Fighters Slide."
2 Works for You evening anchor Karen Larsen will emcee the event.
