TULSA, Okla. — The Broken Arrow Community is taking some time to pray over their police department on Wednesday night.

Lead Pastor Chris Buskirk and the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce will be praying for the safety of their police officers.

“The police departments all over our country are under attack right now," Buskirk said. "Although there are some bad actors, there always are in any kind of organization, that’s human. We also believe that the overall police department is a real blessing to our community.”

Buskirk says he believes there are better ways to have reform.

They are supported, appreciated, and respected in this community. We see them as our allies, not our enemies. We thank them so much for their service, dedication, and a daily risk walking out the door every day, not knowing if they are coming home.

They hope the entire community will show up. Social Distancing is being enforced, organizers are also asking everyone to wear a mask at all times.

The prayer vigil will last 30 minutes and take place at Central Park on June 8th at 8 p.m.
