TULSA — Officials with the Tulsa Fire Department say a transformer likely caught on fire because a suspect attempted to use a blow torch to steal copper wire from it.
Crews say it all happened near 33rd West Avenue and Charles Page Boulevard.
Hazmat crews were called out to the scene because the transformer was an older unit and it contained polychlorinated biphenyl, or PCB.
Crews say the fire is contained and no one was injured.
