TULSA -- Tulsa Fire Department has released the name of the two victims who died in west Tulsa house fire Tuesday morning.
The Tulsa Fire Department said Donna Lyon, 61, and Vonda Teague, 57, were the names of the victims who died in the fire.
Fire fighters responded to the home located on the 4300 block of South Waco Avenue around 1:30 a.m.
When firefighters arrived, the front of the home was engulfed in flames. They checked the house for any victims and entered through a bedroom window in the back.
There they found a woman unconscious. She was taken to the hospital where she later died.
After the fire was under control, firefighters did another check and found a woman's body behind the front door where the majority of the fire was.
Upon further search, officials found two dogs dead.
The initial investigation revealed the house didn't have any smoke detectors. The fire department plans to canvass the neighborhood later in the afternoon to make sure neighbors have working smoke alarms.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
