Teenager arrested in connection to deadly shooting in Okmulgee

OKMULGEE, Okla. — A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection to a deadly shooting in Okmulgee.

Okmulgee Chief of Police Joe Prentice said officers responded to a shooting in the 1700 block of East Glennan Drive at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

20-year-old Tristan James Waters was found with a gunshot wound to the head, Prentice said. He later died at a hospital.

Prentice said the suspect was arrested for manslaughter.

"The investigation is continuing and a detailed report will be forwarded to the district attorney for review," Prentice said in a statement.
