An 18-year-old, surrounded by family at home, shot himself in the stomach on Monday night, police say.
Tulsa police say it happened about 9 p.m. on South 73rd East Ave.
According to officers, the teen was either taking a gun out of his waist band or putting the firearm in his pants when he shot through his stomach, the bullet exiting through his lower back.
He was transported to a local hospital and officers say he’s talking to police.
The investigation is ongoing. Officers are questioning the family and tell us they are confident it was an accident.
