Tax Free Weekend: What is included and what are the rules for Oklahoma?

TULSA – Several shoppers will head to stores August 5 through 7 to score on Tax Free Weekend deals, but what exactly is included in the sales for Green Country?

According to Free Tax Weekend’s website, Oklahoma includes clothing and shoes, as well as items priced under $100. Overall, says the website, Oklahomans should expect to save around 4.5 percent.

For those of you wondering if some stores will not be adhering to Tax Free Weekend, OK.gov reports that “retailers may not charge tax on items that are tax-exempt” during Tax Free Weekend.

The website goes on to point out that the definition of clothing doesn’t include certain items, here is a list of exempt items some might consider clothing.
