If you are looking to add a member to your family, considering adopting sweet "Mayhem."

Mayhem is a one-year-old heeler mix that is described as being "a sweet dog who will make someone a great pet," says officials with the Department of Corrections.

Mayhem graduated from the Guardian Angels Program at Mabel Bassett Correctional Center in McLoud, Okla., officials say. The Guardian Angels Program pairs inmates with shelter dogs for training in obedience.

The DOC's Public Information Manager, Matt Elliott stated that Mayhem "was a stray that showed up to [Mabel Bassett]," prompting officials to place him in the Guardian Angels Program. Officials say Mayhem is crate-trained, house-trained, up-to-date on his shots and neutered.

Mayhem behaves well with other dogs, but Elliott says it is unknown if he behaves well with cats or children.

Officials say it's $100 to adopt Mayhem, which supports the Guardian Angels Program at the Mabel Bassett Correctional Center.

To apply, officials say to call Cory Ketch with MBCC at 405-964-1710, or email at cory.ketch@doc.ok.gov. Applicants will be asked a series of questions, and asked to complete an application prior to adoption, officials say.
