TULSA – A vehicle was found in the middle of private tennis courts this week.
Tulsa police say they were called to the University of Tulsa around midnight to reports of a rollover crash on South Columbia. When they arrived, police say, a 2000 Mitsubishi SUV was parked on its side in the middle of the courts.
According to authorities, a female driver was speeding while driving east on 8th Street. The driver failed to make a stop at the intersection and struck the curb, going airborne over the hill and breaking the fence surrounding the tennis courts.
The investigation is still ongoing, but police say at this time they think the SUV was airborne for 30 feet.
Police say the vehicle was totaled, along with the fencing and the scoreboard.
The driver was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
