SAND SPRINGS, Okla. — Update: The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is handling the case of an officer-involved shooting in Sand Springs.
Officials tell us the officer was chasing a suspect Sunday night, and during the pursuit, the officer shot 49-year-old Robert Desjarlais, Jr., who died at the scene.
Police say, at one point, an officer was pinned against his vehicle and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The officer is expected to be okay.
Officials say the officer has been placed on leave, and the investigation is ongoing.
