CRAIG COUNTY, Okla. -- Sheriff's deputies and agents from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are investigating a shooting that happened Friday night southeast of Vinita.
According to the OSBI, Karl Jones was arrested for shooting high school coach Jason Sauer.
Agents said the two men got into an argument outside a home near S. 4440 Road and E. 277 Road in Vinita and then moved inside. That's when the OSBI said Jones shot Sauer several times.
Sauer was transported to a Tulsa hospital in critical condition. Jones was arrested for shooting with intent to kill.
OSBI agents have not shared the motive for the shooting yet, but some of Sauer's students said his girlfriend is Jones' ex-fiancee.
The Vinita softball team will hold a rally Sunday to pray for Sauer's recovery.
