Suspect connected to string of bank robberies, 2 in Tulsa, in custody in Missouri, say authorities

The suspect connected to a string of bank robberies is reportedly in custody in Missouri.

Missouri State Troopers say they captured Jess Leaverton, 58, near Springfield Thursday. According to the FBI, Leaverton was apprehended near the intersection of Highway 60 and South Farm Road 119 between Republic and Springfield in Missouri. 

Leaverton is believed to have been involved in four different bank robberies in Oklahoma and Missouri, two reported in Tulsa. One robbery was reported on June 18 at an Arvest Bank in Tulsa. 

The FBI went on to say that Leaverton has been transported to the Tulsa County Jail.
