TULSA - A man was arrested by the Tulsa Police Department shortly after noon Monday after allegedly boarding a Tulsa bus, screaming war cries and saying he was going to kill everyone on the bus, according to a booking report.
TPD officers were dispatched to 31st and Peoria to a Tulsa Transit bus when a driver said there was a hostage situation that stemmed from a drunken disturbance on the bus. The reported altercation was between an Indian male and two females.
According to the police report, Kona Lowe, 32, was allegedly intoxicated when he boarded the bus and began making war cries and threats against other passengers.
The driver stopped the bus and opened the doors but the male then threatened the driver, officers say. The driver told police that the male was implying he had a Tek 9 gun. According to a witness, Lowe ordered the driver to continue driving or she "would be hurt like something she had never seen before."
Tulsa Transit security reports that they intercepted the bus at 21st and Peoria and the suspect was taken into custody.
The passengers were taken off the bus without incident and none of them were harmed, police say. Kuna was taken to OSU Medical Center to get a cut above his ear treated, according to the report. TPD says he received the injury while resisting the Tulsa Transit Security Officers.
Along with the kidnapping charges, Lowe also faces one count of Public Intoxication. No weapons were found on Lowe at the time of arrest.
