FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) -- Authorities say an Arkansas man has been arrested in Tennessee in connection with the slaying of the father of an Oklahoma sheriff.
Sequoyah County, Oklahoma, Sheriff Larry Lane says 44-year-old Ricky Rainwater of Fort Smith was arrested Monday in Memphis and jailed pending extradition to Oklahoma.
Lane said Rainwater is a suspect in Saturday's death of Lane's father, Larry Lane Sr. in Keys in Cherokee County, Oklahoma.
Rainwater has not been charged in the death of Larry Lane Sr., and is being held on a fugitive from justice warrant.
Jail records do not list an attorney for him.
