OWASSO, Okla. -- A group of superheroes paid residents of a memory care center in Owasso a visit on Monday.
The Owasso Mom's club moved their play date to the Oxford Glen Memory Center. There, the kids went through "superhero training."
Many of the seniors who have either dementia or Alzheimer's Disease watched. Some even helped the kids.
"It's fun being around the kids," Wanda Dougherty who lives at Oxford Glen said. "They said it keeps you young, that is if you can send them home to mommy."
There were children dressed as Superman, Batman, Elsa from Frozen and Captain America.
The memory care center said they try to do several intergenerational activities every month. The Owasso Mom's Club visits once a month.
"My kids actually ask for it," Samantha Sullivan with the Owasso Mom's Club said. "They jump up and down when I tell them it's time to go see the grandmas and papas."
