STILLWATER, Okla. — Stillwater police said a 15-year-old student was struck by a vehicle after exiting a school bus.
Police said the accident happened near Miller Avenue and Husband Street Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the student was exiting the school bus and was crossing Miller Avenue when she was struck by a vehicle.
Police said the bus had their red lights flashing and stop sign activated.
The student suffered a head injury and was transported to a local hospital, where he still remains, officials said.
The woman driver of the car was cited for passing a stopped school bus and inattentive driving, officials said.
"In light of this incident and injury, we need to remind everyone again how crucial it is to stop for a school bus with its stop sign and loading lights activated and flashing," police officials said in a press release.
