TULSA – As electric crews say they have had to jump from home to home fixing outages this summer, customers wonder why there has been an increase of power issues following storms.
The Public Service Company of Oklahoma says this summer has been busy for its crews and frustrating for customers.
“Many folks feel as though their power goes out at the drop of a hat lately. And companies like PSO say they're just as surprised by the effects recent storms have had on our system.”
Since storms rolled through Thursday, crews worked through the night to restore fifteen-thousand outages reported to PSO in Tulsa alone.
They say all power was restored to the area the next day.
Many residents post on Facebook, though, saying they're tired of all the outages. PSO says, thankfully, this week's outages were only caused by lightning. So, a quick switch of a fuse got thousands of people back up and running.
“Some of those were pretty quick fixes that got on a lot of people,” said Stan Whiteford, PSO. “Whereas earlier in the month, when we had the high winds and stuff, and really out in southeast Tulsa and Broken Arrow, there was a lot more tree damage and power lines down.”
According to their website, OG&E was able to restore all power back to their customers in the Sapulpa and Muskogee areas.
