TULSA - A storm that swept through the Tulsa area Monday night toppled a 40-foot tree, barley missing someone's home.
The homeowner, Leonard Reitz, said the tree fell just before 10 at night Monday. Reitz said he heard something outside, but didn't think much of it.
Reitz has lived in the home on 106th Street and Sandusky Avenue for more than 30-years and says the tree has been a part of the front yard even longer than that.
Reitz says he is shocked that a tree that big and heavy fell after being in the yard for such a long time.
"All of a sudden I hear a crack and I thought a limb had fallen on the roof and came out here and this 40-foot tree that has been here for 40 years fell in the neighbor's driveway."
Reitz hired a Midtown tree service to clean up the damage, and saw off the tree.
