TULSA, Okla. — Boyd Smith has been remodeling homes for over 30 years.
He bought his work van in 2006 and uses all the time. Because each job is different, Smith kept his tools inside the van. Tools that took Smith years to gather.
“For over 30 years I’ve been accumulating them,” Smith said.
That was until last week, when the truck was stolen. To make things worse, although Smith is battling cancer during the pandemic , he must work.
Smith said, “My social security just don’t pay for everything. You run out of money real fast.”
His van was found in north Tulsa Monday afternoon, but his tools were nowhere to be found.
“You took my livelihood," Smith said.
Family and friends have been able to loan Smith tools, but Smith says it's not enough.
Smith's sister-in-law set up a GoFundMe to help him get new tools. New tools for Boyd Smith
