STILLWATER, Okla. (KFOR-TV) — Stillwater City Council unanimously passes a measure requiring the community to wear a face mask in public, according to KFOR-TV in Oklahoma City.

The decision on Thursday comes after Norman city officials passed a bill ordering their community to wear face masks in public.

During a press conference Thursday, Governor Kevin Stitt said he would not pass a statewide mask requirement.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are encouraging people to wear facial coverings in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.
