The Oklahoma State Department of Health is looking to fill a new job opening - after voters approved State Question 788 last week.

Oklahoma City news station KOCO reports department officials are looking for the head of the newly created Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority - and the pay is pretty good.

The job will pay around $92,000 a year.

There are some requirements for the job, which includes:
A master's degree in business administration - Public administration
Five years of management experience.

"The timelines are incredibly aggressive and so it will be a major challenge to get all the operational facets up and running," Interm Director of Governmental and Regulatory Affairs Buffy Heater said. "This person is going to really have to be able to lead a strong team of individuals."

Heater also said the new hire will report directly to her.

Heater didn't say when the agency will begin interviewing candidates but said they'd like to have someone hired around July 26 because that's when the state health department will have to release medical marijuana applications on its website.

"This being a new industry, a new program, there has to be some relationship building with stakeholders outside of these walls," Heater said. "I really feel like that director is going to be charged with having to go out and form some relationships and make sure they have those open lines of communication."

The job application window closes Thursday.

The agency is keeping tight-lipped about how many people have applied so far.

The job application can be found here.
