Texas State University has named Tulsa native and former Union High School grad Jake Spavital as the football team's next head coach.

Spavital was the offensive coordinator for West Virginia. He graduated from Union in 2004 and started his coaching career at the University of Tulsa.
He is the son of former Broken Arrow head football coach Steve Spavital.
