SKIATOOK, Okla. - One man was taken into custody after a standoff in Skiatook Monday morning.
Skiatook police were called to the home near Locust Street and Oak Avenue around midnight from a family member saying his mother was being held at gunpoint.
When officers arrived, she told them her grandson was in the garage with a gun. The woman was taken out of the home quickly.
Police say the suspect, Garrett Barlow, came out of the home peacefully. Barlow came out of the home after OHP's tactical team and bomb squad talked him out of the home.
Police say they are glad the standoff was resolved before the school day begins. The Chief of Police says he worried the incident would affect a busy bus route since the home is close to five local schools.
