SKIATOOK, Okla. -- It was a full house Sunday night, when Luigi’s manager, Adam Luigi said Robert Gambrill came in belligerent, causing disruption in the restaurant.
“My other customers were scared, the kids were eating there they were very quiet eating. So I went to the table there and told him you gotta be quiet, calm down a little bit, because then you’ll have to leave,” said Luigi.
Luigi said Gambrill came back later that night, wearing a police badge on his coat. He said the man aggressively started moving towards him, saying he was a Federal Police Officer and called Luigi a German spy.
“Then he grabbed my chest then pushed my by the wall and so I took his hand and he was telling me was was a Federal Police. I said you are not, I know you,” said Luigi.
Luigi and a customer were then able to hold down Gambrill until police arrived. Police said they noticed Gambrill had a certificate, showing he was a licensed unarmed security officer.
“An unarmed security guard and even a security license they can’t act within being a police officer,” said Skiatook Police Captain Billy Wakefield.
Luigi said he hopes Gambrill knows to stay away from his restaurant from now on.
“I hope he doesn’t do it to anyone and I don’t want him back here either,” said Luigi.
Police tell 2 Works For You, since Gambrill is a licensed unarmed security guard, they will be notifying CLEET about his arrest. Police said Gambrill is now facing charges of impersonating a police officer, assault and battery and public intoxication. They also don’t believe there’s been any other cases of impersonating officers.
