Avrel and Sue Johnson have been found in a rural area or Mena, Arkansas, Owasso police say.
According to Owasso police, 84-year old Avrel Johnson and 71-year-old Sue Johnson were reported missing.
Officials say family members reported the couple left their home Wednesday, Dec. 11 at approximately 9 a.m to go to an address in Tulsa, which they never reached.
During the investigation, it was learned that Sue suffers many illnesses that cause her to be dependent upon regular doses of medicine, officers say.
She shows signs and symptoms of dementia and cannot physically take care of Avrel.
Officers say Avrel is also dependent upon regular doses of medication for several severe illnesses and suffers symptoms of dementia.
Officers say Thursday, Dec. 12 a family member who resides in McAlester, OK reported they saw the couple in McAlester attempting to gain access to a home he, Avrel, previously lived in years before.
Due to the severe nature of the incident Avrel’s phone was tracked to a highway in Mena, Arkansas at approximately 6 p.m. this evening.
The couple was last seen driving a 2007 Red GMC Sierra bearing Oklahoma Tag numbers IXY998, officers say.
