DELAWARE COUNTY, Okla. — Delaware County Sheriff's Office deputies have released the name of the victim and the two suspects involved in a deadly shooting in Grove.

Sheriff Harlan Moore said Jerry Tapp, 49, was found dead in his front yard from multiple gunshots in the 32000 block of South 68th Road on Thursday morning.

Moore said Tapp's live-in girlfriend, Cassie Tennison, 32, was shot in the wrist.

Following a lengthy investigation with OSBI and the McDonald County Sheriff's Office, warrants were issued for Dakota Buzzard, 18, and his father James Buzzard, 46, Moore said.

Moore said Dakota is currently being held in the McDonald County Jail on first-degree murder and attempted murder charges and James is being held in the Delaware County Jail on accessory to a murder charge.

During their investigation, deputies learned the shooting was in retaliation to a shooting that happened back in June 2015 where Tapp shot into a vehicle that was occupied by James and an 11-year-old girl, Moore said,

The 11-year-old girl was shot, but it was non-life threatening, Moore said.

"The investigation is still ongoing and there are other suspects in this case," Moore said.
