TURLEY, Okla. – Another wildfire erupted in Green Country overnight, this time not far from a school.
Turley fire crews battled the large fire overnight, working to extinguish the extreme flames and, according to crews, any chance of immediate danger. Lieutenant Frailey says the fire started around midnight at 66th Street North and then went over a hill.
Crews say they were initially concerned the flames would trickle close to homes but as the winds started to diminish, so did this fear.
Three fire departments, Turley, Tulsa and Sperry, responded to the fire that grew from five acres to nearly 30 acres.
