SAPULPA, Okla. -- Authorities said one person died in a crash on a Turner Turnpike on Monday morning.

The crash happened Monday morning just west of Sapulpa in the westbound lanes of Interstate 44.

Investigators say Michael R. White, 31, of Bernice, departed the roadway to the right and struck the barrier wall before re-entering the roadway, crossing lanes and striking the left barrier wall. The truck again went across lanes and departed the road, rolling 1 3/4 times before coming to rest in the water-filled ditch, according to an OHP report.

White was ejected, and troopers from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol's Marine Enforcement team recovered his body from the water, investigators say.

OHP says the cause of the crash still is under investigation. White was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the report.

The turnpike was narrowed for a portion of the morning.
