TULSA — The second of five Improve Our Tulsa Town Hall Meetings will be held tonight.
Mayor G.T. Bynum and city councilors will meet with the public at Lewis and Clark Elementary at 6:00 p.m.
The five meeting series is being held in advance of the November election where city leaders are urging the public to vote 'yes" on a penny sales tax renewal.
Councilor Phil Lakin said the needs that will be tended to with the revenue are basic yet critical.
The sales tax was renewed in 2013 and Mayor Bynum said that allowed critical progress on road projects and improvements to park, but he said there is still quite a bit of work left to do.
A Spanish interpreter will be at tonight's meeting.
There are three meetings left in the series:
- Tuesday, April 30 – Booker T. Washington High School Auditorium, 1514 E. Zion St.
- Tuesday, May 7 – Jewish Federation of Tulsa Sylvan Auditorium, 2021 E.71st St.
- Monday, May 13 – OU-Tulsa Schusterman Learning Center Perkins Auditorium, 4502 E. 41st St.
A survey is available for people who cannot make a meeting but want to give their feedback.
