Two counties in Oklahoma are taking a bold stance on gun rights, according to KFOR in Oklahoma City.

Sheriff's in Logan and Stephens Counties are declaring their counties Second Amendment Sanctuaries.

A Second Amendment Sanctuary promises to enforce a citizens right to bear arms rather than any future laws thought to infringe on it.

For example, a proposed red flag law, which allows the court to remove firearms from someone thought to be dangerous.

Logan County Sheriff Damon Devereaux says, "I want to ensure my citizens that they're going to be able to protect themselves if we can't get there fast enough."

The Logan County Sheriff is also saying this is an issue of safety for those living in rural Oklahoma.
