The incident occurred around 2:30 at Buffalo Shores, says the GRDA, when a 22-year-old man, later identified as Joshua Gooding, went underwater and never resurfaced.
GRDA says the man was working construction on a private dock when he fell into the water. Gooding was apparently painting the dock when he fell in.
Officials say other workers rushed to the man's rescue once they realized he was in the water, however they could not locate him.
Multiple agencies responded and rescue boats searched the water using sonar equipment. GRDA says divers eventually found Gooding after two hours in 10 to 12 feet of water.
At this time, investigators are unsure of what caused the victim to fall into the water. They say there were no witnesses who saw Gooding fall into the lake.
