School shooting plot foiled
PAWNEE COUNTY, Okla. - A sinister plan to shoot up a Green Country school foiled days before classes begin.
Investigators intercepted the plot they say was hatched by Pawnee High School students.
The Mayor of Pawnee Brad Sewell said it was a violent type of plot - that two juveniles were planning the shooting which was going to take place at the high school.
Local officials say they were notified through social media and then began investigating.
It's not clear how long police had been working on this investigation, but it was severe enough - that now the FBI is involved.
"You don't expect it to happen in your community, but you take precautions because I'm sure every community where it's happened people don't expect it," Sewell said.
In a few weeks, hundreds of students will be back in the classroom.
Sewell said law enforcement worked hard to save innocent lives.
