Sayre prison on lockdown after fight injures seven inmates

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Seven inmates were injured Sunday during a fight at North Fork Correctional Center in Sayre.

The fight took place around 5:10 p.m. in a housing unit.

Four inmates were taken to hospitals in Sayre and Elk City for treatment. None of the injuries were life-threatening, officials said.

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections has put the 2,225-inmate prison on lockdown until further notice.
