SAPULPA — Sapulpa police say a young mother has died and her 2-year-old is in the hospital after a car wreck Wednesday evening.
Police say around 11 p.m. they responded to an accidnet near 71st Street and New Sapulpa Road.
Police say 19-year-old Paige Cohen was driving northbound on Highway 66 in a Chevy Traverse when the vehicle went off the right side of the road and hit an embankment.
Police say when they arrived the car was on fire and found the woman dead at the scene.
A passerby and an officer were able to get a 2-year-old out of the car. Police say the child was taken to a local hospital.
