SAPULPA — Meanwhile, Sapulpa's Mayor will be laid to rest today.
The funeral service for Reg Green is this morning at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Sapulpa.
He suffered from congestive heart failure after surviving a massive heart attack 15-years ago. He was recently hospitalized before passing away from a heart condition.
Even up to the end, Green stayed active when his family wanted him to take it easy.
"You wouldn't have known he was sick had you met him, because he was always the first to jump up and volunteer to help, or try to move things that were clearly not meant to be moved by a 74-year old man," said Ryan Green, son of Mayor Green.
He passed away Sunday at the age of 74.
He served Sapulpa for nearly 25 years, first as a city councilor, then as mayor for the past 9 years.
