SAND SPRINGS, Okla. - Officers with the Sand Springs police department arrested a 14 yr old boy at the high school football field Monday who was in possession of a handgun, according to police reports.
Officers were called to the stadium by school officials who received information that a student had a gun in
a backpack. Police were able to track the backpack to a locker at the football field and called police when they located it.
According to the police report, there is no evidence that the weapon was going to be used to harm any students. The suspect was transported to the juvenile center for processing.
